The Presidential Directorate of Communications Disinformation Response Center (DMM) announced that the claim "Turkey's BRICS membership was blocked by India" is not true. In a statement made on DMM's social media account, it was clarified that the claim appearing in some media outlets is false. The statement mentioned that during the BRICS Summit in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia, attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the membership process of other countries was not discussed in the Expanded Leaders Session. It was noted that the summit addressed the process concerning the expansion of the BRICS community, and thus the claim that India blocked Turkey's BRICS membership does not reflect reality. The public is advised not to rely on statements made outside of official sources.
