Deutsche Bank Returns to Profit in Q3
Deutsche Bank announced a return to profitability in the third quarter, partly due to the release of provisions set aside for investor lawsuits related to its Postbank division. The bank reported a net profit attributable to shareholders of 1.46 billion euros for the third quarter. In the same period last year, Deutsche Bank posted a profit of 1.03 billion euros and had announced a loss of 143 million euros in the second quarter of this year. Analysts had expected a profit of 1.52 billion euros for the third quarter. Post-tax profits exceeded expectations of 1.56 billion euros, coming in at 1.67 billion euros. Revenues, on the other hand, did not meet the anticipated 7.31 billion euros, instead reaching 7.5 billion euros.
