Headline: Market Insights - BoC's Rate Cut Seen as Certain, 50 Basis Points the Likely Choice
The Bank of Canada (BoC) is expected to cut rates for the fourth consecutive time at its meeting tomorrow, opting for a reduction of 50 basis points instead of the previous 25 basis points. Analysts are confident about the BoC's rate cut decision, anticipating that the central bank might accelerate monetary easing with a more significant 50 basis point cut this time. Oxford Economics noted in a report that Canada's declining inflation and weak economy have left the door "completely open" for a substantial rate cut this month. BoC has reduced the rate to 4.25% from 5.00% since starting the cuts in June. The BoC's interest rate decision will be announced tomorrow at 16.45 TSI.
