Anima Holding Engages Goldman Sachs to Evaluate Banco BPM Offer
Italian asset management company Anima has appointed Goldman Sachs to evaluate a potential acquisition offer of up to 1.6 billion euros ($1.71 billion) from Banco BPM, Italy's third-largest bank and currently holding a 22% stake in Anima. This announcement was made today, coinciding with the company's assessment of a proposal aimed at delisting Anima, which was presented earlier this week. According to the terms of the offer, at least 67% of the fund manager's shares need to be acquired.
In addition to Goldman Sachs, Anima has also engaged law firm Gatti Pavesi Bianchi Ludovici for legal advice. The asset manager shared these details following a board meeting.
The company also stated that independent board members will receive guidance on financial matters from Vitale&Co financial consultancy and on legal matters from A&O Shearman law firm. The current exchange rate used for the proposed acquisition is 1 dollar = 0.9343 euros.
